
Youngho Eun
Biography
Since 2023, he has been serving as a Research Professor at the Department of Satellite Systems Engineering, Yonsei University, where he oversees the development of various CubeSat missions. His primary research interests include satellite attitude and orbit dynamics, proximity operations, optimal control, hardware-in-the-loop verification, space environment simulation, and satellite platform and instrument development. Recently, he has also been actively exploring areas such as space surveillance, in-space servicing, debris removal, optical communication and IoT satellites, and wireless power transfer.
Department of Satellite Systems Engineering, Yonsei University
The Department of Satellite Systems Engineering at Yonsei University was established in September 2023, separating from its parent department, Astronomy and Space Science, and has been operational ever since. To date, it has successfully completed four CubeSat missions under its overall management and participated in two others. For 2025, it is developing three CubeSat missions. Two additional missions are planned for the 5th launch of Nuri in 2026.
The Department of Satellite Systems Engineering at Yonsei University is equipped with a full lifecycle system necessary for satellite development, encompassing mission design, satellite body design and manufacturing, and ground station operations. It also possesses a cleanroom for satellite manufacturing and an antenna ground station for direct communication.
It maintains partnerships with companies such as Hanwha Systems, LIG Nex1, KAI, NARA Space, AP Aerospace, and CONTEC.
