Jaeheung received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hanyang University and his Ph.D. from Seoul National University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the field of fourth-generation mobile communications.
He laid the foundation for mobile communication technology by conducting IMT-2000 and international standardization research at Samsung Electronics’ Telecommunications Research Center, and was in charge of next-generation network technology development and application strategies at LGU+ Technology Research Center.
Since joining AP Satellite in 2008, he has developed and mass-produced satellite mobile communication modems and military communication modems, and has been a key participant in the development of the KPS receiver, EO\/IR and K7A satellite payload data output encryption system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

APSI SoC-Based Satellite Modem and Defense Datalink Technology<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

APSI has developed its own proprietary modem chipset, producing 18 types of terminals and achieving sales of 900,000 units. The modem chipset supports Software Defined Radio (SDR) functionality, implementing GMR-1, GMPRS, and GM-1 3G through hardware logic, while GMR-2 is implemented in software using DSP. APSI has also developed and deployed the Joint Tactical Datalink System (Link-K) for naval vessels. In addition, APSI has developed a satellite modem for medium-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (MUAVs), which has entered mass production, and is developing line-of-sight communication modems for aircraft-to-ground connectivity. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

AP Satellite inc. (APSI)<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

AP Satellite was founded in 2000 and has been the sole terminal supplier for Thuraya satellites in the Middle East since 2003, exporting over 900,000 terminals for nearly 20 years.
The company has commercialized four SoC modems developed in-house and applied to its terminals, and is leading the market by differentiating itself from competitors such as China based on its own modem chipset capabilities.
It has also developed Link-K modems, satellite modems for medium altitude unmanned aerial vehicles and army unmanned aerial vehicles, and line-of-sight modems for aircraft. AP Satellite has the capability to develop satellite payloads and bodies in-house, and has developed on-board computers, observation satellite storage devices, KPS transmitters and receivers, and AIS receivers.
We are involved in the development of payloads for most of our projects from the Multi-Purpose Utility Satellite 3 to the present, and we are also developing small satellite platforms based on the successful experience of the Nuriho performance verification satellite.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
